pojoslam (Blogspot) (pojoslam.blogspot.com) has great Triple H news, photos, videos and more
More recently, MSG is Randy Savage, Bret Hart, Curt Hennig, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, John Cena, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle. Chris Benoit, the way I'd love to remember him, but probably never can. MSG is Jess, Vince Sr., Vince, Shane, Stephanie, Linda. MSG is McMahon. M...
• I don't really know or care about Hornswoggle's involvement in the Raw main event for Survivor Series, but I thought John Cena did an awesome job, laying out why the WWE and World Heavyeight Title matches were so important at Survivor Series. Shawn Michaels and Triple H are friends, but Ce...
Case in point, the main event from Raw for this year's Survivor Series. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena. There really isn't any issue with the three superstars, all of whom are babyfaces. So let's have them (mostly DX) mention that they have all fought each other a gazillion times, act l...
• It made sense for Chris Jericho and Kane, after helming Team SmackDown to a win at Bragging Rights, to be in the mix for the World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match. It makes little sense, at least as far as I am concerned, for Big Show — a Raw wrestler — to be in the same mix.
WWE has been starting and stopping on guys' pushes for a while. The Miz, MVP, Jack Swagger, John Morrison, and probably others I am forgetting. The latest guy to get featured prominently on Raw is Kofi Kingston, who picked up a win over Chris Jericho and managed to cut a promo on Randy Orton and...
It was surprising to see The Undertaker retain the World Heavyweight Championship at Bragging Rights. I figured he wouldn't retain, Rey and Punk wouldn't get it and Batista probably would. I guess 'Taker holds on for another month. Batista going heel after the match on Rey Mysterio was well...
Let's devote about a third of a pay-per-view to Randy Orton defending the WWE Championship against John Cena in an iron man match at Bragging Rights. • We didn't even get the promised Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho match and instead, got a bunch of stalling and talking and then a big brawl.
Monday's edition of Raw, which will be going head-to-head with the Major League Baseball playoffs, is hosted by Snoop Dogg. The main event is John Cena vs. Triple H. For the umpteenth time.
So, to recap, there's really no issue between Raw and SmackDown. So why not do a Raw vs. SmackDown PPV? I am of the thinking that issues and feuds sell tickets and PPVs, not gimmicks. Unless Show faced Chris Jericho, by order of Nancy O'Dell. Why?
• The main event was good. Well with Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho and Big Show, it's pretty hard for it to be bad. Of course, we had Triple H pinning Jericho, presumably to set up a tag team titles match at Bragging Rights. Having DX on multiple shows probably can be a nice ratings spike....
• I liked the main event idea of Rhodes and DiBiase taking out Triple H and then dissecting Shawn Michaels in the cell. It played to the strengths of all the guys, which would be Shawn taking a beating, Legacy double teaming, and Triple H making the dramatic comeback. Even though DX won, I thoug...
Lawler: "No. I'm correct now. DX together have never been in a Hell in a Cell match. Sure, they've been in as Shawn Michaels and Triple H." Main events on TV for this week: ECW — Christian defending the ECW title against Zack Ryder. SmackDown — Batista vs. Big Show.
• The tease of Batista's retirement, leading to his punking out of Randy Orton and subsequent match on the same show, plus his move to SmackDown, was handled well. For one, it got people to stay tuned to Raw if they wanted to see the Batista-Orton street fight. Second, it got people to tune in to...
WWE Championship, I Quit match: Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena World Heavyweight Championship, Submissions match: CM Punk (c) vs. The Undertaker Unifed tag team championship: Big Show & Chris Jericho (c) vs. MVP & Mark Henry
• DX spun the "big wheel." It kind of reminded me of the WWE draft thing. Somewhere along the line, Triple H managed to mock Chris Masters' hair transplant, they managed to mention Barker's famous cameo in "Happy Gilmore" and we ended up with a "random" tag team match of DX vs. Randy Orton & C...
Submissions count anywhere: Degeneration X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) vs. Legacy (Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes).
Everyone had these brand t-shirts on, which DID make it hard to identify them right off the bat. Edge winning the battle royal brought SmackDown Kane and Chris Jericho. Kane always moves around, but it was probably a very good move to put Jericho on SmackDown, with the cluttered main event mi...
• I really think the wrong guy won in the main event of WrestleMania, especially if Triple H had to cheat with the sledgehammer where the whole purpose of the stipulation was that if he hit anyone with the sledgehammer and got disqualified, he would lose the belt. It felt an awful lot like Wres...
Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker was wonderful and every bit of what a WrestleMania main event could be and should be. I guess, the best way, to illustrate this is, Jimmy Snuka, Roddy Piper and Mae Young all got on the main WrestleMania card. John Morrison did not.
So, we have Vince and Shane McMahon back on TV to back up Triple H in his feud with Randy Orton and Legacy. The last segment on RAW was probably also its best, whether Orton's explanations for messing with Triple H made creative sense or not.
• Shawn Michaels and Kane, two of the more tenured wrestlers in WWE, had a decent little TV match, albeit on SmackDown instead of RAW. Michaels bumped all over the place for the Big Red Machine and took one of the best top-rope clotheslines that I've seen in a Kane match in quite some time. Nice f...
• World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match: Edge (c) vs. Big Show vs. John Cena. Looks like Vickie Guerrero's support could be on the line here too. Funny that this is the RAW belt, but most of the build has been on SmackDown. • The Undetaker vs. Shawn Michaels. Need I say more.
He might be after WrestleMania. We'll just have to wait and see. Until then, we will get Triple H rampaging after Randy Orton with a sledgehammer wherever WWE goes. At least the Intercontinental title will finally get back on WrestleMania for the first time since WrestleMania 18.
• The Undertaker's promo was less like his supernatural stuff and more like a legendary wrestler talking about his career. He takes it as a personal insult when guys try to boost their careers on his legacy. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels has the potential to steal the show at WrestleMania.
When Jerry Lawler came out to announce the main event, I thought a few things. They're in Boston and it is snowing a lot, so Vickie Guerrero must either be late or absent and the second thing was that they were giving away a WrestleMania main event on RAW for no good reason.
• Some folks have been fairly critical of the finish of Monday's RAW with the pending sledgehammer fight between Randy Orton and Triple H, which resulted in a low-speed race between the Game and Legacy. I didn't have a huge problem with the segment, but the chase aspect of it ended up being a t...
• Good delivery, I thought, from one of the best performers in the company, Triple H (now revealed as a member of the McMahon family). He really sold the severity of Randy Orton's actions. Another reason I thought this was good was because for the first time in quite a while, the Triple H charac...
• Another strong performance by the emerging Mike Knox against Rey Mysterio. He didn't have the worst performance of any of the newcomers in the Elimination Chamber (sadly, that would go to Vladimir Kozlov and his inability to take "Snake Eyes" from The Undertaker. Mysterio also had a very...
Sunday's No Way Out pay-per-view gave us a number of twists and turns on the Road to WrestleMania. I am torn over whether that is a positive or a negative. Presumably, this gives us Triple H, defending the WWE Championship and his wife's family honor, against the dastardly Royal Rumble winne...
SMACKDOWN ROYAL RUMBLE RAW For one, Randy Orton comes to the ring and explains that since he suffers from intermittent explosive disorder (IED) and that if Stephanie McMahon fired him, he would sue Stephanie and WWE and would also sue them if he was not allowed to wrestle in the main event o...
The last-man standing match between Triple H and Big Show was one of Triple H's better performances in a while — with the Game selling like a madman and pretty much getting obliterated — for the duration of the match. • The Miz & Chavo Guerrero actually got a good amount of offense in the ha...
SmackDown • So far from SmackDown, we've got Triple H, Kozlov, Big Show, Shelton Benjamin and The Undertaker as participants in the Royal Rumble. I had a discussion with a friend on the New York City subway over Shelton Benjamin. Can he go further than they are pushing him? Is his lack of forwa...
RAW It's John Cena vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble, after JBL's win in the Road to the Rumble match on RAW. The rest of RAW... SMACKDOWN Friday's SmackDown has... • Matt & Jeff Hardy vs. Big Show & Edge
For those wondering, the real reason Batista did not compete on RAW was actually much more severe. The Animal suffered a torn hamstring and will be out for several months and will need surgery. Batista was being considered for a main event match with John Cena at WrestleMania, but obviously...
• Shawn Michaels vs. Kane • JBL vs. Rey Mysterio • Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk • Randy Orton vs. Batista The winners of those face each other in a fatal four-way for the title shot at the Royal Rumble next week on RAW. They teased on SmackDown that Batista may be too injured from his punt to compete.
• I don't think WWE could have asked for very much more out of Triple H, Chris Jericho and Edge as they did in the triple threat match. While I might have held on to that angle until WrestleMania of Hardy taking the belt, it's an interesting step to take. Now that the story is told of Hardy winning t...
• World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena (c) vs. Chris Jericho • Batista vs. Randy Orton • Santa's Helpers match: Maria, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James & WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool vs. Maryse, Jillian Hall, Victoria & Natalya.
Now onto SmackDown... • It is so great to have the best heel in the business, the Rated R Superstar — Edge, back on SmackDown. His absence was obvious and his presence sorely needed. It will be intriguing to see who ends up in the main event picture with him. The show is so much better with him around.
For months, Kozlov has, for lack of a better word, mauled the other wrestlers on SmackDown in short order, creating a buzz about his character and eventually, putting him in the main event of Survivor Series, one of WWE's four signature annual shows.
As for the rest of that match, the bizarre trio of Shawn Michaels, Great Khali and Rey Mysterio were celebrating with Ranjin Singh by match's end. Who would have predicted that group for team glory at Survivor Series last year? • The Undertaker vs. Big Show casket match was by and large, prett...
I seriously forgot the Survivor Series was Sunday before I watched Monday Night RAW. • I like that we have three traditional Survivor Series matches this year. • JBL & Kane vs. Cryme Time, at least, promoted the five-on-five match.
• In other Hardy family news, Matt Hardy and Shelton Benjamin had a very solid match. Good back-and-forth between two fast-paced wrestlers, who were able to utilize the psychology of working a body part. Both guys looked strong. It puts ECW over that its champion could beat the United States...
SMACKDOWN • Triple H mocking Vladimir Kozlov and making "Rocky IV" references all over the place was kind of lame. I hate Triple H's comedic delivery. Here, you've got this guy who has been mauling everyone for months and the best Triple H can do is calling him "Boris." If Triple H wins their fir...
SMACKDOWN Triple H is a great wrestler. He has a great look, he's a good actor and he's a marketable, creative person. Now Undertaker will face Triple H next week on SmackDown. Will he lose? When Edge comes back to SmackDown, where will he be? My guess is losing to Triple H.
• Triple H and Big Show's match was somewhat basic and I don't really remember much about ti other than the end when we got Taker, Vlad, and Jeff Hardy to interfere. Reportedly, the WWE title match for Cyber Sunday is Triple H vs. Jeff; Triple H vs. Vlad or Triple H vs. both. My money is on Triple H vs. Je...
• Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels' ladder match for the World Heavyweight Title was a quality match, where both guys really laid it all on the line for the sake of the art, so to speak. By match's end, Jericho looked pretty messed up as he took the ladder to the mouth and chipped and knocked a to...
• The triple-threat match with Triple H against Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy was solid and I was pleasantly surprised at the finish with Triple H pinning Hardy; Jericho getting his heat back by laying out Triple H, Jeff coming in to take out Jericho and then laying out Triple H and then of all...
There could not be a worse time for this. Shawn Michaels is in the middle of a serious, bloody feud with Chris Jericho, so why not have him hop down the aisle, crotch-chopping. • Shawn Michaels teasing Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and Bret Hart as his partner was kind of stupid.
RAW • The ladder match between Jericho and Shawn Michaels was right for the next step in their feud, a high-stakes title match. I'm not really sure where Mike Adamle went before Shawn came out (no one is probably), but this should be a really good match. As if there was a doubt.
• A little surprised to see Carlito and his afro teaming with his brother, Primo and getting a win over the tag team champions, Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder. A lot of people jumped to the conclusion that Carlito was in the dog house. Carlito, himself, said in a recent interview that really he w...
It had been six-plus years since Chris Jericho reigned as the world champion and there couldn't be a more deserving guy in WWE than Jericho. In a surprising twist, Chris Jericho filled in for CM Punk and won the World Heavyweight Championship scramble match on the same night that he and Shaw...
It was a really good wrestling show, as most people on the internet are quick to point out. I was impressed. We'll probably know on Sunday whether or not anything is going to get added at the last minute to the Unforgiven pay-per-view because both RAW and SmackDown! are being taped in SuperSho...
Don't know if everyone heard this yet, but Triple H will also be defending the WWE Championship in a Championship Scramble at Unforgiven. There are qualifying matches on this week's SmackDown, so I won't give away who will be in them. RAW
SUMMERSLAM It's a fairly stacked SummerSlam card when you have people like Chris Jericho, Big Show and Kane not even making it onto the card. • WWE Championship: Triple H (c) vs. The Great Khali. There is no way Triple H is NOT winning this one. Phil's pick: Triple H.
The top secondary guys right now are Chris Jericho (face), Shawn Michaels (face) and Mr. Kennedy (face). That doesn't even cover ECW, where their title feud is Kane (face) vs. Big Show (face) or SmackDown!, where I can't even think of who other than Batista (who is taking time off soon) would c...
• Another strong match between Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. My friend Matt in Latham commented to me the other day that he was really enjoying the "triangle feud" between Batista, Michaels and Jericho. One of the main reasons why was that none of the guys had turned heel yet and that it se...
Might as well start off by talking about the biggest news story in professional wrestling in the last three days: Floyd Mayweather, in all likelihood, will make his professional wrestling debut at WrestleMania XXIV at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla. on March 30. NO WAY OUT RAW
