Instead of timed levels, as in earlier games, you can now skate the night away in any of THPS 4's arenas. When you're ready to take on a challenge, talk to a pedestrian to get an objective, then bust your funky fresh moves! New goals such as Combo strings and mini-games in a tennis court add to the fun. Also new is the "Go Pro" challenge: after finishing the amateur levels, you must perform a special challenge, unique to your pro, in order to open the professional levels.
