The Ultimate Fighting Championship will attempt to counter program Strikeforces November 7 event on CBS with a special two-hour event featuring never before seen fights on cable from recent UFC events.

The two hour special, named “UFC Main Events”, will feature four major bouts from 2009 and will air on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Saturday November 7.

The four bouts include the main event from UFC 102 between Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, the UFC 103 bout between Vitor Belfort vs. Rich Franklin, the UFC lightweight title bout from UFC 101 between champion BJ Penn vs. Kenny Florian, and the UFC 101 match between Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin.

Spike TV Vice President of Sports and Specials, Brian J. Diamond talked with MMAjunkie.com saying the “UFC Main Events” program was just the latest show in the works from the UFC.

“We have some more stuff planned that we’ll announce in the next few weeks that will take place by the end of the year,” he said.

Strikeforce is just the latest target for the UFC to focus it’s sights on after the demise of Affliction’s MMA promotion. The Strikeforce event on November 7 will air live on CBS and feature a main event bout between Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers.
