Late Sunday evening, 2a.m. (EST)/11p.m. (PST), DREAM promotions unveiled their White Cage for the DREAM.12 event at Osaka Castle Hall in Osaka, Japan.
The main event saw Strikeforce heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem, who was the heavy favorite to win, square off against James Thompson who some odds makers marked as an 18-1 underdog.
Overeem quickly finished Thompson, a former Cage Rage and EliteXC fighter, in the first round by sinking in a standing guillotine choke in the first half minute of the fight. The Dutch fighter won his last bout a week ago by the same way, submitting Tony Sylvester in the first round of the Golden Glory’s ‘Ultimate Glory 11′ event.
