pojoslam (Blogspot) (pojoslam.blogspot.com) has great Rey Mysterio, Jr. news, photos, videos and more
Everyone had these brand t-shirts on, which DID make it hard to identify them right off the bat. Edge winning the battle royal brought SmackDown Kane and Chris Jericho. Kane always moves around, but it was probably a very good move to put Jericho on SmackDown, with the cluttered main event mi...
RAW At least it's Batista and not Vince McMahon. ECW • I enjoyed the idea of Christian, Finlay and Tommy Dreamer working together to eliminate Mark Henry from the mix. I think Christian vs. Swagger will probably be the match at Backlash.
• Somewhere in the entrance of the hundreds of John Cenas, there is probably a metaphor for what Vince McMahon would like his roster of wrestlers to be like, but instead he gets guys that look like Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio sometimes. The triple-threat was better than most people probabl...
• World Heavyweight Championship triple-threat match: Edge (c) vs. Big Show vs. John Cena. The build for this match with Vickie Guerrero going with whomever the winner is stupid and hokey, but I will assume the match will be good. Funny that this isn't going on last, but I still figure Cena is go...
The match, itself, should be good. It will be interesting, also, to see which match at WrestleMania ends up being the real "main event." I am guessing it will be Orton vs. Triple H, but I would still not be surprised to see Orton depart WrestleMania as the new champion. Happy ending or not.
WWE should finalize everything for WrestleMania on Monday because they are taping all three shows in a SuperShow format. RAW has Chris Jericho vs. Jerry Lawler and John Cena vs. Big Show. ECW has the all-divas show they have been promising. SmackDown has MVP defending the US title again Shelto...
• Can't really say the same for the Edge-Big Show-Vickie-Cena angle though. So this time, Edge spears Chavo (whose role could have been played literally by any Kansas City enhancement guy tonight.) and Vickie was upset that Big Show punched Edge. Is this really a WrestleMania build?
He might be after WrestleMania. We'll just have to wait and see. Until then, we will get Triple H rampaging after Randy Orton with a sledgehammer wherever WWE goes. At least the Intercontinental title will finally get back on WrestleMania for the first time since WrestleMania 18.
We are on the road to WrestleMania and the card is starting to take shape for the "Grandest Stage of Them All." Monday's RAW was just odd though. In an exciting TV main event, Edge won by DQ and Guerrero came out at the end of the match and announced Big Show as the new No. 1 contender.
• Kane defeated Santino Marella • Finlay defeated Mark Henry in a Belfast Brawl • ECW Champion Jack Swagger defeated Christian • Chris Jericho defeated Kofi Kingston • CM Punk & Shawn Michaels defeated Randy Orton & Edge when Michaels pinned Edge
The rest of RAW... • Nice move by WWE putting Terry Funk and Dory Funk Jr. into the Hall of Fame. Few are more deserving. Good inductor in Dusty Rhodes too, since Mick Foley is unavailable while working for TNA Wrestling. The Brisco Brothers might have been a good choice too.
It ended with Flair striking Jericho, which basically took the place of Flair coming back with a witty retort. Hopefully, this does not lead to Flair wrestling Jericho, just a year after his great retirement weekend at WrestleMania last year.
SMACKDOWN There were a number of positive things on SmackDown on the last stop before the Royal Rumble. ROYAL RUMBLE RAW The RAW roster, by the way, who came out and listened and did not act, on Randy Orton saying he was going to single-handledly stop WrestleMania. The rest of RAW.
• Triple H (SmackDown) • Big Show (SmackDown) • Vladimir Kozlov (SmackDown) • The Undertaker (SmackDown) • Randy Orton (RAW) • Rey Mysterio (RAW) • John Morrison (ECW) • R-Truth (SmackDown) • Carlito (SmackDown) • Kane (RAW) • Finlay (ECW) • Mark Henry (ECW) • Chris Jericho (RAW)
Having JBL and company keeping him out of the Royal Rumble makes sense too. JBL should not want him in the title mix. He should want Michaels beholden to JBL and no one else. Keeping Michaels out of the Rumble allows for him to have no shot at a WrestleMania main event payday and apparent future fi...
RAW It's John Cena vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble, after JBL's win in the Road to the Rumble match on RAW. The rest of RAW... SMACKDOWN Friday's SmackDown has... • Matt & Jeff Hardy vs. Big Show & Edge
For those wondering, the real reason Batista did not compete on RAW was actually much more severe. The Animal suffered a torn hamstring and will be out for several months and will need surgery. Batista was being considered for a main event match with John Cena at WrestleMania, but obviously...
• Shawn Michaels vs. Kane • JBL vs. Rey Mysterio • Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk • Randy Orton vs. Batista The winners of those face each other in a fatal four-way for the title shot at the Royal Rumble next week on RAW. They teased on SmackDown that Batista may be too injured from his punt to compete.
So next week, we've got: Shawn Michaels vs. Kane JBL vs. Rey Mysterio Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk Randy Orton vs. Batista The four winners advance the following week to a fatal four-way elimination match with the winner of that facing John Cena for the World Heavyweight Title at Royal Rumble.
• I don't think WWE could have asked for very much more out of Triple H, Chris Jericho and Edge as they did in the triple threat match. While I might have held on to that angle until WrestleMania of Hardy taking the belt, it's an interesting step to take. Now that the story is told of Hardy winning t...
• World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena (c) vs. Chris Jericho • WWE Championship: Edge (c) vs. Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy • Batista vs. Randy Orton • ECW champion Matt Hardy vs. Vladimir Kozlov (non-title) • Belfast Brawl: Finlay vs. Mark Henry • I-C tournament finals: CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
• Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy was fast-paced and it was surprising to see Jericho get the win as cleanly as he did. Both guys are main-eventing a PPV on Sunday though and if Jeff beats Triple H on SmackDown, a lot of people won't remember he lost clean to Jericho by Sunday. Wrestling is like that.
• The promo by Chris Jericho to kick off the show was really good, but then again, when don't we say that? His argument for hating John Cena was logical (Cena beat him, to eliminate him from WWE) and in his time off, his young son grew up watching WWE and loving John Cena, which made Jericho sick...
Having Chris Jericho and Batista fight in a gauntlet against the same three wrestlers (William Regal, Mark Henry and Kane) was clunky and awkward. When general manager Mike Adamle annnounced the match, I'm not sure anyone knew what he meant or what was going to happen.
• I am not really sure why Kane & Mark Henry wrestled Matt Hardy & Rey Mysterio again. Solid match. Kane beat Rey again. No one would be surprised if there was some sort of gimmick match, again, between Hardy and Henry at Cyber Sunday.
• Fun tag match with Kane & Mark Henry taking on Matt Hardy & Rey Mysterio. It's funny how many cool tag team combos WWE has had on TV lately. The finish to the match with Henry using Mysterio as a projectile to knock Hardy off the ropes was clever. It reminded me of when Kevin Nash tossed My...
• Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels' ladder match for the World Heavyweight Title was a quality match, where both guys really laid it all on the line for the sake of the art, so to speak. By match's end, Jericho looked pretty messed up as he took the ladder to the mouth and chipped and knocked a to...
• The triple-threat match with Triple H against Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy was solid and I was pleasantly surprised at the finish with Triple H pinning Hardy; Jericho getting his heat back by laying out Triple H, Jeff coming in to take out Jericho and then laying out Triple H and then of all...
Darn it, I'm not a little kid anymore (I'm actually almost 29). But I am a little annoyed by the fact that, due to a torn triceps muscle, the Shawn Michaels we get in the "unsanctioned match" at Unforgiven will be less than 100 percent. On to the rest of RAW...
ECW (which was taped last week and will air Tuesday) • Live Dirt Sheet with The Miz & John Morrison with Mark Henry and Chavo Guerrero • Gavin Spears vs. Super Crazy • The Miz, John Morrison, Chavo Guerrero & Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Tommy Dreamer & Finlay.
The new World Heavyweight Champion did an effectively smarmy opening segment, reinforcing himself as the top jerk on RAW. Jericho vs. CM Punk was announced as the main event of next week's RAW in Memphis in a steel cage. Not having Punk or Shawn Michaels at the show made for an interesting dyna...
• Somewhat lacking fanfare debut for "The All-American American" Jack Swagger on ECW. For those who don't know, Swagger is former University of Oklahoma wrestling All-American Jake Hager, who has been well-regarded for some time in WWE's developmental system. He looks like he has plent...
RAW • I like demented weird Kane so much better than awkward face Kane. I like that WWE is keeping Evan Bourne loosely aligned with Rey Mysterio. I definitely see a tag title reign in their future. ECW • Fairly dominant win for Henry over Finlay. This has turned into quite the long feud for Henry an...
