November Rain: Analyzing The UFC Roster Cuts

Thumbnail The release of heavyweight Werdum came as a surprise, even with his 1st-round knockout loss to Junior Dos Santos in October. Werdum had amassed a 11-4-1 record, defeating Gabriel Gonzaga and Brandon Vera and losing to Santos and Andrei Arlovski in the UFC. There was almost no reason to let h...

Tim Sylvia's Newest Scheme to Regain Glory

Having lost three of his last four fights, with his last one being a tap-out to a rear naked choke at 36 seconds into the first round of his fight with Fedor Emelianenko, it is possible that Tim suffered brain damage from lack of oxygen. (Of course I am joking here.)

The UFC: A Masterpiece Or Piecemeal?

Could the UFC come to this? The fact that title fights are being held up and divisions lie dormant in the wake of money making super fights, the organization is ingesting itself whole. Super fights? So is MMA a sport for the UFC or solely a money generating enterprise?

Five Fighters That Could Beat Brock Lesnar Today

Pardon me if I am not that impressed with the current UFC Heavyweight Champ. To me he's kind of the UFC version of Kimbo Slice. I firmly believe that the UFC is going in the wrong direction, and its all because of Dana White and his stupid match-ups. 1. Frank Mir 4. Brandon Vera 5. Gabriel Gonzaga

Another Take on UFC's "Leader," Brock Lesnar

If you saw the fight between Couture and Lesnar, you saw Couture go down in the second round. And Lesnar just pounced on him, punching him until it was stopped. But who is to say Couture wasn't paid to take a dive? Lesnar is a semi-good fighter, but not a guy who can beat a vet like Couture. And altho...

What To Expect From UFC 92

Expect Matt Hamill's fight with Reese Andy to be boring and uneventful, but still somehow make it on air. Expect Dana White to announce UFC 97 to feature Matt Serra vs. Matt Hughes, or he'll announce that UFC 99 will be in Germany, and will feature Couture-Liddell 4 at heavyweight!

Wrestling Undergoing Changes: Kids Dreaming of UFC Gold Rather Than Olympic Gold

More than two dozen centuries have passed since those first Olympic wrestling matches and, though wrestling is still an Olympic tradition, interest in traditional forms of wrestling (such as Greco and freestyle) seems to be waning.

Upon Further Review: Miguel Torres

Torres was born Jan. 18, 1981 in the small town of East Chicago, Indiana. He is a Mexican American mixed martial artist, who specializes in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and possesses very potent Muay Thai striking. In September 2008 Torres received his black belt in BJJ from Carlson Gracie, Jr.

MMA: The Change Has Been Made From Boxing To UFC

UFC 94: Will GSP Become a Legend and Beat Prodigy BJ Penn?

For a long time, I was the worst type of columnist a fight site can have. I was a "fighter basher" and my favorite target was BJ Penn. Unfortunately, being the cynic that I am, I didn't believe him and saw his wins over every fighter from Jens Pulver until Sean Sherk with a jaundiced eye.

UFC Fight Night: Fight For The Troops... Don't Our Troops Deserve Better?

Josh Koscheck Vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida The only fighter that did not win his last fight was Josh Koscheck, who lost the welterweight No. 1 contender fight to Thiago Alves just a month ago at UFC 90. At least the UFC had enough respect to find fighters that have at least a one-win streak going.

UFC 91 Preview

UFC Championship Time: Couture Vs Lesnar

Let me tell you why you should be thinking that.  Lesnar is waaaaay bigger than Couture, and other than Tim Sylvia (who we all agree has become kind of a wuss) Couture struggles against bigger guys.  To be such a small heavyweight, Couture usually fights up a little on paper.  Ricco Rodriguez,...
