Bleacher Report (bleacherreport.com) has great Mike Swick news, photos, videos and more
The American Kickboxing Academy product has rattled off three consecutive victories at the 170 pound limit over formidable contenders Josh Burkman, Marcus Davis, and Jonathan Goulet. As a result, he is knocking on the door for a potential title shot. ...
CA The 5'11" Riggs would fight six more times in the UFC, defeating Chris Lytle, Nick Diaz and Jason Von Flue. But his losses to Matt Hughes (a Welterweight title shot that evaporated because Riggs didn't make weight), Mike Swick and Diego Sanchez were ...
CA Also on the card are two very good welterweight pairings in Mike Swick vs. Ben Saunders, a matchup that Swick hopes gets him closer to the top contender spot, while Dan Hardy vs. Marcus Davis promises to be an explosive battle for respect in this ...
CA by Nick Colon (Columnist) Mike Swick is always one of those guys that you think deserves a title shot, but there seems to be always someone ahead of him. Whether it was Yushin Okami, or now Thiago Alves, Swick's continued to be in the mix no matter ...
CA I do see big attacks from most bouts. Cain Velasquez likes to keep a fast pace. Mike Swick wants to get in your face. Marcus Davis says "Try Me". Spencer Fisher moves forward. Paul Taylor is relentless. Mostapha Al Turk is pressing the fight. ...
The MMA Q&A: Mike Swick CA Despite the loss, Swick still joined the UFC, and has gone 8-1 with his only loss coming from Yushin Okami. Before entering MMA, Swick studied kickboxing in Thailand. Now with the American Kickboxing Academy, he will enter the octagon at UFC 99 to ...
CA He was set to fight Ben Saunders at UFC 96, but both fighters withdrew due to injuries. Ben Saunders has recovered and is expected to face Mike Swick at UFC 99. A lot can happen between now and then and it'll be hard to predict who he'll be fighting ...
CA Mike Swick - Swick hasn't been that active but he's coming off a quick KO of Jonathon Goulet and a decision win last summer of Marcus Davis. Swick has a upcoming bout with Ben Saunders. 6. Carlos Condit - Condit at the six spot is kind of rough because ...
CA The semifinals featured Thiago Alves eliminating Mike Swick and Jon Fitch defeating his partner Josh Koscheck. The rematch between Fitch and Alves in the finals did not go like the first fight as Alves picked up more votes to win over Jon Fitch. ...
CA Does the welterweight version of Mike Swick knock out Gideon Ray in 20 seconds? I say no. And I don't think I'm alone. - Which brings me to my next point. What the hell is up with the "there should be two heavyweight classes" argument? ...
CA A brief list of other fighters I want to see in a top flight match-up yet again, preferably versus each other if applicable. Shane Carwin, Cheick Kongo, Forrest Griffin, Demian Maia, Jon Fitch, Mike Swick, Marcus Davis, and Spencer Fisher.
CA Thiago Alves defeated Mike Swick with an 11-5 vote. Jon Fitch eliminated his partner Josh Koscheck from the tournament with a 14-2 vote. Mike Swick and Josh Koscheck are not getting much love from the writers, but we are left with an interesting ...
CA - Feb 15, 2009 Expect Kos to KO Paulo Thiago, and then we all remember his last fight. Poor Yoshiyuki Yoshida! Expect to see Kos face Mike Swick or Marcus Davis next. ...
The trainers on the Tour will be Greg Jackson of New Mexico (the coach of world champions George ST. Pierre and Rashad Evans), Mark Dellagrotte from Boston (the coach of UFC elite fighters Kenny Florian, Marcus Davis and Patrick Cote), Ricardo Liborio, from American Top Team camp in Flori...
Stephan Bonnar Diego Sanchez Chris Leben Since then he has gone 2-3, recently losing a unanimous decision to Michael Bisping. Josh Koscheck Mike Swick He only has one loss in the UFC to Yushin Okami, and has since dropped to the welterweight division. Nate Quarry
Then the rumors in October came and a finalization of the fight announced shortly before Thanksgiving and the mega-fight of the year with Brock Lesnar vs Randy Couture. Tune in later this week for Part Two: Fight Night, with a post fight talk with Karo Parisyan, Greg Jackson and Firas Zaha...
I don't think Mike Swick is being challenged enough and getting the fighters he deserves, so who better than "Rumble"? Both very explosive strikers, this fight would potentially have either knockout of the night or fight of the night honors.
Mike Swick:The only credible thing Mike Goldberg has done in the past five years as an announcer was proclaiming that this guy's nickname should be "Quick." Although not known for any type of dominant ground game, Swick does have one hell of a guillotine choke.
Lyoto Machida v. Wanderlei Silva Chuck Liddell vs. Mauricio Shogun Rua Thiago Silva v. Forrest Griffin Gegard Mousasi (Thales Leites) v. Yushin Okami Welterweights: Jon Fitch v. Josh Koscheck Matt Hughes v. Matt Serra Thiago Alves v. Jake Shields (Mike Swick) BJ Penn v. Kenny Florian

Personally, I would like to see Marcus Davis in a rematch against Mike Swick. But Davis had some interesting comments in a pre-fight interview. He said that Swick had an upcoming fight with Thiago Alves in February. While the win was big for Belcher, it proved he is not a Top 10 middleweight.
Although it has not been officially confirmed, Thiago Alves could put his No. 1 contender spot on the line against Mike Swick at UFC 95. Both men have been dominant in the welterweight division lately and should see who will fight for the welterweight title next.
Enter showcase fights. The point can be made that those two fights are must-win fights for each fighter involved; however, there are three other fights on the card worth watching that may lead to more action and thus more fun. Marcus Davis Vs. Chris Lytle
Hazelett began making waves at "The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale," by submitting Josh Burkman. He won submission of the night, and fight of the night honors. He then went on to pull off an impressive victory over Tamdan McCrory at UFC 91. After two straight submission of the night awards it was cl...
3. Mike Swick 2. Josh Koscheck He was the most controversial fighter on the first season. He had a Junie Browning-esque attitude. But like Junie, he got together with a good team at American Kickboxing Academy and really has improved his attitude.
Knockout of the Year Submission of the Year Loser: Karo Parisyan Breakthrough Fighter of the Year Winner: Thiago Alves Non-UFC Winner: Miguel Torres (WEC) Comeback Fighter of the Year Fighter of the Year Honorable Mention: Thiago Alves, Anderson Silva, BJ Penn
If that didn’t put things into perspective, maybe this will. I’ve had the opportunity to train with Paul Georgieff, who was a member of Team Hughes on the Ultimate Fighter Season 6. Paul is a purple belt, near brown belt in BJJ. He has placed in nearly every grappling competition he has ente...
At the TUF finale, he was submitted in the first round by Jonathan Goulet. Keep in mind, Goulet was once knocked out in 11 seconds by Duane Ludwig, knocked out by Mike Swick in 33 seconds, and choked out by Dustin Hazelett in just over a minute.
He is fighting on the UFC 92 card. If your not a loyal follower, you would never know. He is fighting Dean Lister, a decent fighter, but this fight has no implications whatsoever. To add insult to injury, this fight is being fought on the under-card. The Ultimate Fighter loser from las...

It all started on Wednesday as UFC put on Fight For The Troops, a night of bouts centered around raising money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Coming from Fayetteville, NC, the Fight Night card was full of highlight-reel knockouts and several fighters improving their standing in the...
I feel like a lot of people were upset about the so called "mismatches" and the ruthlessness of Steve Cantwell and Mike Swick, but all these fighters are paid professionals who think that they are championship material, so there is no pity party for a beatdown.
Thank you to the UFC, Dana White, and the Zuffa organization for putting the time and effort into making this show really worthwhile. Thank you to the TAPOUT guys for putting out a shirt where 100% of the proceeds go to this worthy cause. Thank you to all the celebrities that took the tim...
If we didn’t know better, we’d have said that the main event matchup for Josh Koscheck was a hand-picked gift, beautifully wrapped and presented as payment for stepping in with a monster like Thiago Alves on short notice back in October. But as we know, this fight was set prior to the circums...
Some people have said that Swick didn't have it anymore, that he didn't have the passion and that he was probably going to lose to Jonathan Goulet at UFC Fight for the Troops. All I can say after seeing him TKO Goulet at Fight For The Troops, is Mike "The Canadian Killer" Swick is Back.
In another fight I could care less about, Swick and Goulet will finally get a chance to meet. Apparently they have been trying to fight each for some time, but like me no one really cared enough to book it. Yoshida wins by unanimous decision. UFC cuts Koscheck within a month.

Interesting fight,Cantwell was the WEC light-heavy weight champion, and Vera is a above average LHW fighter. A perfect test for both men,Vera needs a win to validate that huge paycheck he's getting. Cantwell needs to prove he's worthy of facing top contenders in the 205 weight class. A grea...
So, to remind fight fans out there of who is in this division (just in case you forgot), here's a breakdown of the activity in this division before it went out of style: The top dog in this division is known simply as three letters: GSP.The top contender in the division is Thiago Alves, who rece...
Robbie Lawler vs. David Loiseau Loiseau is looking to get back into the UFC,and i think Lawler is also headed that direction. Maybe an Ultimate Fight Night Main Event? Steve Cantwell vs. Keith Jardine Paulo Filho vs. Chris Leben Diego Sanchez vs. Mike Swick James Irvin vs. Stephan Bonnar
10. TUF Season One—Chris Leben 8. TUF Season One—Mike Swick 6. TUF Season One—Diego Sanchez He suffered back to back losses to Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch, but Diego is still young and still one of the top fighters in the welterweight division. 4. TUF Season One—Josh Koscheck
If you asked 10 random MMA fans their opinion of Marcus Davis, you'd hear the phrase "gatekeeper" an awful lot. Somewhere along the line, it got into our heads that Davis is not a top fighter. The strangest part is how untrue it is. Davis is 6-2 in the UFC, and prior to his loss to Mike Swick, he had n...
Swick went undefeated for five fights before losing a decision to Yushin Okami at UFC 69. Since that defeat, Swick dropped down to welterweight and has defeated both Josh Burkman and Marcus Davis by unanimous decision. With victories over Steve Vignault at UFC 58 and David "The Crow" Loise...
The first season of the Ultimate Fighter is notorious for introducing the world to stars such as Kenny Florian, Diego Sanchez, Forrest Griffin, Stephan Bonnar, Josh Koscheck, Chris Leban, and Mike Swick. But at the beginning of the competition, Nate Quarry was the favorite to win the con...
Welterweight (170 lbs.) 1) BJ Penn 3) Mike Swick Swick has done well at the lower weight class, but his fights lack the normal luster he maintained at the higher weight. If Swick lets his hands go, and fights like the old Mike Swick, he could be one to watch. Middleweight (185 lbs.) 3) Yushin Okami
Marcus "The Irish Hand Grenade" Davis vs. Paul "Tellies" Kelly. Davis is a boxer and has more wins by submissions and a record of 14-4. He holds notable wins over: Shonie Carter, Pete Spratt and Jess Liuadin. He should try to submit Kelly. Kelly is a vale tudo fighter with a record of 8-0. He should l...
Mike Swick: Swick has gone 5-1 since the finale of the show; only dropping a decision (Unanimous) loss to Yushin Okami, prompting a drop from 185 to 170. At 170, he defeated Josh Burkman via Majority Decision and will next see him in June taking on TUF Season 2’s Marcus Davis.
The quality of this fight night would have been worth the pay-per-view price. During the night, fans witnessed some brutal knockouts, a great submission, and quality fights. Every bout was exciting and helped sort out the increasingly crowded lightweight division. Free events such as th...
