pojoslam (Blogspot) (pojoslam.blogspot.com) has great John Cena news, photos, videos and more
No more stalling, here's Friday's SmackDown lineup: • Steel cage match: Big Show vs. The Undertaker • Edge vs. Kung Fu Naki • Non-title: Michelle McCool vs. Maria • A tag team gauntlet featuring Triple H & Jeff Hardy vs. various opponents • Non-title: Matt Hardy vs. Chavo Guerrero
• The Chris Jericho-Randy Orton-Batista match was hard-hitting and well-worked. I think I saw Batista and Jericho calling a couple of spots during the match, which was a little disappointing, but the end result was still quite good with Batista and Orton beating the heck out of each other...
• The finish of the Team Orton vs. Team Batista match was very well-executed, gave the fans a taste of Orton vs. Batista and left you wanting a little bit more. The interaction with Cody Rhodes and Manu with Orton over the injury of their partner, Ted DiBiase, is a nice touch. They have been able to...
• SmackDown divas vs. RAW divas in a Survivor Series match with face/heel teams in action. So it's Beth Phoenix, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Candice Michelle & Jillian Hall against Michelle McCool, Natalya, Victoria, Maria & Maryse. Reminds me of the old 1987 Survivor Series when t...
Are they going to give us Randy Orton vs. Mike Adamle? • This video game is the only offense Miz & Morrison are going to get. They even did the job in the video game. • John Cena, idle for months, gets a title shot at Survivor Series. That sort of reeks of desperation. HERE comes Khali.
Odd little episode of RAW last night.<br /><br />For starters, I liked that Chris Jericho and Batista got to choose each other's opponents for their matches on RAW, but they never made it clear that they got to choose their stipulations also. Jericho picking all heel lumberja...
• I'm sure Batista vs. Jericho will be a fun main event, but why make the fans choose between Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin. I'm not 100 percent convinced they won't pick Shawn Michaels, considering the great feud he's had with Jericho over the past few months.
In my view, the scramble matches might be crazy enough to work. Jim Ross has mentioned on his blog that Pat Patterson has had a hand in getting the scramble concept off the ground and Patterson doesn't associate himself with poor match concepts. You may remember that an idea of Patterson's ab...
Don't know if everyone heard this yet, but Triple H will also be defending the WWE Championship in a Championship Scramble at Unforgiven. There are qualifying matches on this week's SmackDown, so I won't give away who will be in them. RAW ECW
• I don't really know why they put Great Khali in the match with Triple H. The match was pretty much what everyone would expect. Triple H won. Khali did what he needed to, but is, of course, unspectacular. The injury bug recently hit SmackDown (Kennedy, Umaga). I hope Khali does not get another sho...
SUMMERSLAM It's a fairly stacked SummerSlam card when you have people like Chris Jericho, Big Show and Kane not even making it onto the card. • WWE Championship: Triple H (c) vs. The Great Khali. There is no way Triple H is NOT winning this one. Phil's pick: Triple H.
Monday's edition of RAW featured the final build for the brand's fare at this Sunday's SummerSlam PPV. While many think that the build to the second- or third-biggest pay-per-view of the WWE calendar has been haphazard and not well thought out, I just can't believe we are going into Summer...
• I think WWE is making a mistake giving away the first Batista-John Cena match at SummerSlam. It clearly would be a huge draw at a WrestleMania and probably should not be rushed into. The angle has plenty of intrigue, but at this point they are rushing it with only two weeks to go until SummerSl...
I thought it was a decent show at the Great American Bash, albeit with an interesting crowd, as I was in attendance. FYI...Monday's main event on RAW is John Cena & Cryme Tyme vs. JBL, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase in a rematch from last week's show.
GREAT AMERICAN BASH PREVIEW • Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho. This could steal the show on Sunday. These two have done a really good job with this storyline. I think Jericho has a world title in his future as well. Phil's pick: Chris Jericho.
• World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (C) vs. Batista • WWE Championship: Triple H (c) vs. Edge • ECW Championship: Mark Henry (c) vs. Tommy Dreamer • Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho • New York City Parking Lot Brawl: John Cena vs, JBL • WWE Divas Championship: Michelle McCool vs. Natalya
• I thought the fatal four-way with Batista, JBL, Cena and Kane was fine. It probably would have felt better to me if they didn't do the TNA thing of going to two commercial breaks during a match that did not hit 20 minutes. I like the idea of Batista vs. Punk, but mainly because it is a new matchup we...
Having Edge and his "Edge guys", as Shawn Michaels calls them, pick on JR in Oklahoma and get tons of heat at his expense was really good. That meant that when Batista came out to the ring (and his screwy loss at Night of Champions makes a lot of sense now), the fans really wanted to see Edge get it....
• I was surprised by the finish to Edge-Batista because it seemed like the match could end with Edge retaining and Batista getting robbed, but instead they had Batista get pinned. At this point, I was completely convinced that John Cena was going to beat Triple H.
• Vince McMahon forgetting the password on the first caller of the night was really scary. • Interesting to see Randy Orton on RAW. Boy, do they miss him in the heel depth department. • And then JBL beat Kofi Kingston. I wonder who will end up on ECW.
It's time, brand by brand, to take a look at Monday night's WWE Draft, which airs on Monday Night RAW, an hour early at 8 p.m./7 p.m. central. RAW SMACKDOWN! World Heavyweight Champion Edge — I like him right where he is as the top dog on SmackDown!
Also, in tomorrow's Journal, there will be a feature by Brittany Perotti on Chris Bell's "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" documentary which will be premiering in Poughkeepsie on Friday. As soon as I have link information for the web version of the story, I will post it here. I will be trying to get...
• I like turning Chris Jericho heel, but I strongly dislike turning Chris Jericho heel on a show where Triple H is the top face. Jericho, in my view, is always a more effective heel than a face. I anticipate some major changes being made in the draft and hopefully, one of them will affect Jericho...
• The Angle-AJ Styles was well-worked, but also had the usual bells and whistles of what a TNA handicap match would be like. I can't remember the last time I saw Kurt Angle win a match with the Angle slam. SMACKDOWN! • I doubt highly that anyone, specifically since the show was taped, thought th...
• I guess John Cena is facing JBL tonight. I forgot they also announced Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy for this evening also. • JBL vs. John Cena is next. • I love Jillian Hall's character. It gets me every time. • In Owen Hart, can we say that Triple H took John Cena's legs right out of his...legs?
The top secondary guys right now are Chris Jericho (face), Shawn Michaels (face) and Mr. Kennedy (face). That doesn't even cover ECW, where their title feud is Kane (face) vs. Big Show (face) or SmackDown!, where I can't even think of who other than Batista (who is taking time off soon) would c...
• I thought the stretcher match with Batista against Shawn Michaels was pretty good and was a good next step in the triangle feud of Batista, Jericho and Michaels. It was pretty much mostly Batista dominating HBK, but it still told a good story. I wouldn't mind Jericho in the Chavo Guerrero ro...
Another decent effort from RAW on Monday, although I wonder if the build for One Night Stand was even worth anything, since it only lasted two weeks. • The segment with Randy Orton and Triple H had some strong mic work, but One Night Stand really just had such a rush job in terms of build. Maybe WW...
• The main event picture on RAW kind of bores me. Coincidentally, Triple H is WWE Champion. Seriously though, in my view, Cena — who never really lost the WWE title, should be in the main event. JBL has been pretty pedestrian, since coming back, yet has feuded with basically everyone in the main...
ECW • Morrison and Kane had a decent, long match, which was well-worked and moved nicely towards the tag titles match at Judgment Day. RAW • Jericho-Michaels will probably be a good match at Judgment Day. I have no idea where Batista fits into the JD card though.
The point he was making, which for that 45-second stint, was horribly worded, was that he does not use steroids and has been drug-tested since he was younger playing football and later in his career as a bodybuilder. He said that since performance-enhancing drugs are such a hot-button iss...
