Ah, the Hero games. I really liked some of the Guitar Hero games and I’m looking forward to Lego Rock Band (not part of the same series, but at least the same idea). Mind you, I pretty much suck at these games, but still I find them to be enjoyable.

Simply put, Guitar Hero 5 is a fantastic and full-featured Wii rhythm game. You can import songs from past titles, you have a large and diverse set list to go through, and there are interesting new challenges to tackle. Any Guitar Hero fan with Wii instruments would be remiss to ignore this ex...

The turnaround has been astonishing. Guitar Hero launched in 2005, its first set-list composed extensively of cover versions, with the music industry's nostrils too busy sweeping lustily over cisterns to pay it much heed. Developer Harmonix was virtually required to shuffle up to reco...

Claiming that this is the 5th Guitar Hero game is as preposterous as claiming Windows 7 is the 7th edition of Windows. We have multiple sequels to different versions, with single band spin-offs and portable versions. We are also soon to get Band Hero, DJ Hero and who knows: maybe MC Hero and Tr...

The Tuesday release of the new DJ Hero spin-off of the Rock Band/Guitar Hero games got me thinking about an idea I had with a friend of mine a while back as those games were first originally becoming popular. It’s called “Guitar Troll.” The idea is simple: you take the guitar controller from...

I love Rock Band. I absolutely love it. It is one of my favorite games of all time. I still to this day play songs from the first Rock Band that came out in 2007. You can say I have an obsession with the Rock Band series, and to a lesser extent Guitar Hero. What I am starting to see is some bullshit tactics...

“I just actually played it for the first time last night,” he says, laughing with slight embarrassment. “I’m terrible. I have to get reaccelerated to it because I’ve been playing on tour, playing real guitar for the last seven or eight months.”
